There are a few places where they do the best wine tastings near Buenos Aires, we like to talk about the Argentine wine regions and terroir. Terroir is a French term which refers to the specific and individual characteristics of a land, including soil and climate conditions, that influence the wine produced from grapes from that region. The Argentine wine region runs all along the western edge of Argentina, at the base of the Andes Mountains. Sub-regions of note include Salta, Mendoza, and Patagonia. The best Torrontes wine of Argentina comes from Salta. The highest rated Malbec wine of Argentina comes from Mendoza, and the most recognized Pinot Noir from Argentina comes from Patagonia. The Andes mountains are one of the most important aspects of terroir in Argentina. They provide a rain shadow, or barrier, to protect the wine region from the rain coming off of the Pacific Ocean. The rain moves through Chile and stops when it hits the high Andes Mountains. Argentina ends up with a very dry wine region. There are on average three hundred days of sun per year in Mendoza and three hundred and thirty days of sun per year in Salta. With all of the sunshine and dryness in the wine region many of the problems that come with humidity, such as molds, pests, and fungus, are avoided. Winemakers in Argentina pride themselves on having a more organic grape. Using many chemicals on the vines is not necessary to protect them from common problems in a more humid climate.Because Argentinas wine region is very dry, winemakers count on excellent irrigation systems to provide water to the vineyards. Using irrigation allows the winemakers to stress the vines, meaning they give the vines just enough water to survive, but no more. This creates a high quality grape for winemaking.

You don’t need to visit your local Starbucks in order to get good coffee. In fact, you can brew up some tasty stuff right in the comfort of your own home. That is, if you own a single cup coffee maker. What’ so special about one of these? Well, for starters, you can purchase Starbucks brand coffee K-cups designed to work in these. With these, you’ll get coffee that tastes exactly like the kind you’d get if you went to the restaurant itself. Although it tastes the same, it will be much cheaper and you won’t have to put up with the hassles of actually going. I don’t know about you but I get intimidated when I walk in to a coffee shop. For one, I don’t know much about coffee except that I like a good tasty cup every now and then. I’d much rather stay at home and brew coffee that can rival or taste better than what I can get at the coffee shop.
